Favoritism

Zoey is my 10yr old daughter's dog and she definitely prefers her over anyone else in our home :)

I think every dog has their favorite and I like being able to say that I am Abbi's favorite.  I know that it is only because I spend more time at home, my husband works way too many hours, but I like to think its just because I am the best.
However if we go somewhere I am quickly forgotten for whoever "drops" the most food.  By the way, it seems that the men I know are the biggest pushovers.

Thank you all for telling me about your dogs.I've enjoyed reading them all!!
When we are at his parents, they live in the country and he lets her lose(with his watchful eye) and he can call her to come to him even if she is playing with the other dogs or smelling something interesting in the woods, but if it's me "no way mom,I'm busy" .lol.
One time I was walking her and her leash snapped(later found out that I placed it on the i.d. tag instead of the collar loop.) She knew she was lose, she ran with top speed. I called for her then ran after her(made it worse), I got out stuff out of my pockets to act like it was food. She still was running like a free mustang, and the thought of the road scared me. I then remebered how she goes nuts about cats. We had a stray cat and she was going crazy to get a hold of it. I said "meow" (don't ask why I was crazy enough to think of this). And all of the sudden out behind the building she came thundering her way toward me. She jumped on me and I suddenly got ready for the blow and took her collar and safely brought her home. If her dad was there that would not had happened.[;)]

I have brought a number of dogs into my house for a long list of reasons, extending from purchasing a dog to finding a stray to fostering. Every last one of them like my husband first, then warm up to me. I am the one that does the corrects of bad behavior, bathes the dogs, grooms the dogs and most times feeds the dogs. I do most of the "bad" things, like grinding nails, plucking hair out of eyes and ears, cleaning teeth. I take them to classes so I "make" then do things. He on the other hand, DO NOTHING! He asks nothing of them and they love him.

I would say that Shenzi loves my husband more than me b/c he plays with her, doesn't discipline her, encourages bad behavior (jumping on the bed, paws on the table, rambunctiousness, etc.).  But, you know, she does make sure to come and show me that she loves me too.  If he's watching tv or something, and I go off to do something (laundry, clean, whatever), she'll jump up and follow me, get bored with what I'm doing and leave, but come back a little later on to check up on me.  It's pretty cute, actually.  She was a giant handful at first, but she's turned into a pretty good dog (generally)...

Our guys are definitely mama's boys!! It's better that way too. DH doesn't appreciate their snuggles and kisses as much as I do, so it works out well. They crack me up - they follow me all over the house constantly, and the minute I sit down anywhere, they're right on top of me. But I love every second of it! [:D]

They also seem to go nuts over our neighbor across the street too. He doesn't have dogs, so he's always more than willing to come and love on ours.
