    My Lil Miss Sensitive

I assume complete responsibility for the following, please dont be to hard on me.....
Every once in awhile when we are in a hurry we'll leave the house wihout a collar. About a hour ago DH had to be picked up from the eye doctor early so we rushed out. When we came home that mean ole kitty was next to our gate and Rory spotted her first thing. She was focused on me but I could tell she was struggling (we've been working on distraction from the kitty) BUT stupid me again, I didnt have any treats, I was in my cozy clothes and caught off guard. This cat is not one to back down so what did I do? I picked Rory up.....OH MY she stiffened up....no prob. The problem is that now she is acting fearful, the lil stinker. I didnt reprimand her, it was my error. And after we got inside the gate I spoke to her in a noce voice, asked her if she wanted food and she sulked in the corner tail between her legs and dosnt even wanna come up on the bed?
Is she spoiled, crazy, or did I make a big wrong move?

Goodness gracious, that's seems a little exaggerated on her part!  Cowering because you picked her up?  So much for that "tough" image pits are supposed to carry [;)]  If you don't normally pick her up I suppose you could have startled her and maybe she took it harder than she should have, or misinterpreted it to be a scolding, or some dogs just don't like being picked up.  I know my girl doesn't...she contorts herself into bizaarre twists, somehow makes herself feel like a deadweight, and gazes at the ground longingly until I put her down.  Needless to say, we don't pick her up [:)]  Anyway, I'm sure Rory will get over it soon enough...probably when you give her her dinner [:D]

I wouldn't worry too much... you probably freaked her out a bit but she'll forgive you. I recently scared the bejesus out of Russell as he was coming in from playing in the snow - he was all covered in snow and I yelled to him "WAIT!" as I rushed at him like a madwoman, brandishing a towel. The next couple of times I called him in through that door he shied away from me, but eventually he got over it.

Well it has now turned to her palying favorites with DH, ha ha! I amde it worse by trying to love on her.....ah how we are putty in their paws. I think she must have been caught off guard, I havnt picked her up since she was a wee lil pup, I didnt even know I could still lift her. She's roughly 60lbs I'm barely over 100lbs. Oh man DH laughed the whole way, ha ha!
