    I learnt something new

I watched agility and other competitions on tv yesterday. We never get those on tv, so it was a first. Well I was shocked to see that there were mixed breed dogs in competition. I had no idea. I always thought that those were for pure bred. Even being here for a year I never knew that.  Also it looked like so much fun. It was really something I could see myself gettiung interested in.

I have not seen a dog show on tv, so I think I'll have to watch for that as well.  But hats off to those of you in agility, what a work out.

There are a number of organizations that run agility competitions for any kind of dog, mixed or pure. Those who compete in agility can post links to those orgs. AKC agility is only for purebred (or at least dogs that look purebred enough to get an ILP) but they're only one of a number of organizations that run agilty competitions.

I am assuming you were watching the Purina Dog Challenge?  I caught the tail end yesterday.  Actually the AKC is the only venue I know of that only allows purebred dogs in agility competitions.  (Not familiar with UKC and if they offer agility) All other organizations are open to all dogs.  Here are some of the agility organizations I am familiar with:

The last two are fairly new venues.  I mainly compete in USDAA and AKC.  Consider yourself warned...agility is highly addicting!! [:D]

That should just be repeated.  [;)]  If you do agility, you know what we're talking about.  And YES mixed breeds (aka All Americans!) are welcome in many, many venues.  I believe UKC allows them to do agility too, but some of the UKC obstacles are very different from the other venues.  It's really the most fun you can have with your dog.  Look around for a good class and see for yourself.
