Well, between Terri and Acesmom and the folks on the Moosedog list I'm starting to feel a lot more hopeful! Maybe, just MAYBE we can work something out![:D]

If you get the brindle hound, are you still looking for an Elkie?

Also, join an Elkie list if you haven't already.  Sometimes people going places are willing to help transport.

Well, the big development today is that the application I put in to adopt a Cockatoo has finally generated some interest!

So while I would love to go get the mountain cur, I would rather adopt a bird right now. Both would be just too much, I think. It's a hard choice, but the chance to adopt a cockatoo wins.

I just got an email from the owner and I wrote her back and answered all her questions. Now I wait.

We'll just have to see what works out.

Oh, and yes, I'm on the Moosedog list. Nice folks!

If my niece pup is any indication of what Elkies are like then wow. She's a wonderful girl. I can understand why you like Elkies.

There's nothing in the world like an Elkhound! I'd be completely lost without my two boys. And I love you little niece pup, Annie, she is such a doll!!

Jean, I'm going to PM you some info for a lady here in WA. She's part of the moosedog board, I think, but she may be able to give you some leads. Oh, and I actually did see some $525 roundtrip fares from Fairbanks to Seattle in June online today--so it may be a little more reasonable to fly than you think.
