GOOD EVENING SUE, HAPPY NEW YEAR, I AM SORRY THIS IS LATER THAN I PROMISED, BUT I LOST INTERNET CONNECTION FOR A FEW DAYS. AS I SAID TO YOU , A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE , ONE OF HIS SON-IN-LAWS IS A PA. STATE TROOPER IN THE SOMERSET PA AREA RECEIVED A CALL THAT A 18 WHEELER WAS TRAVELING ON THE PA TURNPIKE WITH A DOG ON A LEDGE BETWEEN THE CAB AND THE TRAILER. HE STOPPED THE TRUCK AND THE DRIVER SAID HE DID NOT KNOW THE DOG WAS THERE AND DID NOT KNOW HOW THE DOG GOT THERE. HIS LAST STOP WAS IN OHIO 6 HOURS PRIOR TO BEING STOPPED. HE DID NOT OWN THE DOG. THE DOG'S DEMEANOR IMPRESSED THE TROOPER. THE DOG IS A BORDER COLLIE AND DID NOT HAVE A COLLAR. THE TROOPER TOOK THE DOG TO A SPCA SHELTER. END OF STORY. THE DOG WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND OBEDIENT AND DESERVES A GOOD HOME. It reminds me of someone I know that had a cat crawl up underneath their van, like on top of the pipes and stuff, and they were driving and didn't notice it until they heard it meowing! • rwbeagles Posted : 1/3/2007 6:58:15 PM Neat...I have a story like that...   My Mom once drove to McDonalds while running another errand, ...about 15-20 mins, freeway most of the way (this being Cali things were spread out lol)...with an 6-7 week old KITTEN clinging within the big spring shock of her rear wheel. Now THAT'S...a stowaway folks!   She only came to realize it was there when she heard LOUD meows in the drivethru as she waited. She got her food, parked and looked underneath and couldn't see the kitten but it was DEFINITELY in there someplace.   Kismet would have it, a squad of firefighters was in the same lot eatin McD's...they helped Mom jack up her minivan and one of them pulled the screeching thing out...it was greasy...but otherwise okay! She brought it home to me in a McD's bag..lmao! • brookcove Posted : 1/3/2007 9:47:21 PM SO the story was told, apparently, on the radio and it was picked on a wider basis. The owner called and was able to ID the dog definitively via a tatoo mark. I still don't know how the dog got lost but remember to permanently ID your pets!!!!!
