    Help... AKC Registration?

Hi, I just got a Staffordshire Terrier, and from the breed's discription on the AKC web site, she has no flaws. She has been to a couple different homes and I don't see how I could get her parent's papers and things to get her registered. Is there anyway that I could get her Registered without her paren'ts papers?

you could see her at [linkhttp://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=93044280&imageID=1642752928]http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=93044280&imageID=1642752928[/link]

I don't think you can for conformation, but for comapnion and performance events you can do an [linkhttp://www.akc.org/reg/ilpex.cfm]ILP[/link]

For a dog to get an ILP they have to be spayed or neutered, which I hope she is already. belgmal_girl is right, you can't do conformation with an ILP but you can do all the other events.

If your dog is/was not registered with the AKC then you will not be able to register the dog unless you aqpply for an ILP number which allows you to compete in performance events such as obedience, agility and rally

The only real reason to register a dog is if you plan to make her a show dog.  If she is just your pet, there is no need to do that.  AKC does get a lot of revenue from this, but you can love your dog just as much without it.

Without her parents papers, you can get her an ILP after she's spayed, but that's it. She's very cute, but having no flaws is not the same thing as being excellent- I've seen plenty of dogs with no flaws (nothing major wrong) but no real virtues, either. (Nothing particularly GOOD either...)
