So heres my question: If someone who already has two dogs( not me, I have three), male and female and they were to add a third, what sex would you recommend?

in my opinion, the personality of the dogs in residene may offer a direction. You also want to pick a puppy with a temperment that will mesh with what is in residence. Pushy bitch is top dog, get a male or the reverse.

I agree with mrv. I think sex is second to temperament.

We have 3 females and 1 male. One of our females is a bully to the 3rd so we supervise them.

It would definitely depend on whether either had an attitude problem, and who was the boss.

opposite sex of the alpha dog. (Go by temperment of your dogs)

I have had multiple females and multiple males....I'll take the boys any day. Bitch-bitch fights are brutal, while with the boys, it's often just postering.

LOL, I dont know if I totally agree there... but certainly in some cases.
