I think they just tell you what you can and cannot do..

you CAN post a new thread,
You CAN reply to a message
You CAN'T Post a new Poll.....

    And so on

Do the permissions vary acording to post count?

The list that auburn posted are the same ones that shows on my account - so ours are identical

However, I'm sure that in the moderator's accounts, every box is check marked.

I posted on Anything and Everything about how to post a poll, but I didn't get a response.  I'm also wondering if we "regular janes" can post new polls.  I think it would be a really fun new function!

Auburn, I think if you will notice that if you are not logged in, each of those boxes is marked with an "x."   That means you can't do anything without logging in, or non-members can't post.  On another board, we are having a huge spam problem, so requiring a log-in eliminates that.

I wonder if that stuff varies according to the status of our account, like how active we are/how many post we have made.

I'm logged on and delete my own thread has an "x" as does delete my own post

I don't think "status" matters....I think someone X'd a box they meant to check

I was wondering the same thing as marynh.  Are we no longer able to go back and edit or delete our own posts?  That feature used to come in pretty handy.

Someone said (unless I misunderstood) that those buttons could be used to delete a post. So I'm going to try it with this one (clicking on it after I post this).

    Didn't work.

    content removed

okay, there's no way to delete it.  The icons at the bottom just show you what you can and can't do on this page.

what you CAN do though, is go into the "edit" function and just type in "content removed" and repost it that way.

But I think you can only edit a post up to 30 minutes afterward.

In my post above I typed "I'll try it" and I just edited it so that I removed what I originally said.  It won't let you post it blank, though, so that's why I wrote "content removed".

And I think we can edit them after 30 minutes now too.
