    Update on Overstepping Boundary Post

Over the weekend, I spent several hours shopping for Christmas gift essentials and also buying for the foster mom I had spoken about. My sons helped me pick out some toys, 3 boxes of kitty litter, 2 cases of cat food, and 3 bags of kitty greenies.

We then ventured to her house and quietly placed the loot on her porch before we rang the doorbell. We told her that Amber, Hayley, Trinity and Static wanted to thank her for the good deeds she is doing for the cats in our town. She started crying and hugged each one of us. It felt so good to do that. My sons and I helped bring in the supplies, pass out the toys and put the supplies away. We stayed for an hour because she insisted on giving the kids egg nog and cookies.

It gives me such a warm heart to show my kids people who do right to animals fo the world. Also, showing them how they can help out as well.

Aww bless you - doing things for others is so heartwarming and sets such a great example for you children. I'm sure you made that woman's day (and her cats' too). [:D]

It warms my heart that there are still people in this world like you.  I am often the laughing stock of the people I work with because of the way I feel about animals and things in general, I look at them like they are the crazy ones and think to myself they should be so lucky, to ever have the love and respect of another species.  Even the squirrels and the racoon that lives in the tree across from my apartment know me now, and is funny to see how they react when they see me coming. ( I guess they know I bring food)

She is a very nice lady. I called her today to let her know how Amber is doing, and we spoke for an hour. She is definitely a gift to animals here. She really cares about them.

I felt wonderful shopping for her and the cats on Saturday because I knew it would be greatly appreciated.

I know that this is a dog board but I think that anyone who helps any animal is a fine example to others about the love of animals.

From the view point of someone providing shelter for animals i can tell you that your gift and the thought behind is is such an amazing gesture! We very rarely ever get anykind of donations.People seem to think that everyone else must be donating so they must have enough! A few people say they plan on bringing something by but they never do.If a person like you showed up at my door it would be so overwhelming! She will never forget your kindness! May you be a role modle for others! Donate to your local shelter this christmas!!!

I donate food and toys to the shelter every month ;)

Thank you for the kind words. I have always been impressed with what you do for the animals in your area as well. You are one of the few angels for the four-legged as well.

One of my favorite movies is my favorite Christmas movie. "It's a Wonderful Life."

Each person has an effect in this world. And your's is a wonderful life. Maybe it doesn't "feel" heroic to you but it is. Firemen who survived 9-11 were crowned heros, even though they didn't feel like. They were just doing their job. Which is not any less heroic by their modesty.

    Wings for Sara.

When my sister and he SO adopted their latest kitty from a rescuer, they gave her $65.00.  I guess that the lady was bug-eyed; apparently not many people giv emuch when they adopt a cat from her.[:o]

What a great story!! You did a wonderful, thoughtful thing buying the supplies and stuff for her. Makes me feel all warm, fuzzy and teary eyed.
