how to santa hat.....

just a quick question that might be funny but here it goes....
I got a santa hat for our son (a 2yr old bernese) and its totally adorable, but he gets annoyed with it and trys to take it off ...i was just curious if there was a way to train him before xmas to leave it alone when he has it on. I made sure its not to tight, and i know its cause he's not used to it, but it would be nice if i could train him to leave it on and not try to take it off.

Haha! Leave it on? Just to get a photo of Scout with it on, I had to put it on her head while she was sleeping.

Some dogs don't seem to mind it so much, but unfortunately I have no advice!! [

It is nearly impossible to keep any type of hat on my babies! They will turn themselves inside out to get it off!

I would imagine that you would use a leave it command, or be still. I use stand to get Crusher into his harness as its always a trick to get his arms through their holes. He cant get it off until he's hooked up and can back out, but he rarely does that. I guess you could distract him with treats for a minute or so and then take it off, so he associates wearing the hat with food(or attention or whatever reward you have). I think the trick would be not to leave it on for too long at a time until you work up to it.
