Dog safe herb garden

• Dog safe herb garden Sarajade Posted : 11/14/2006 12:23:13 PM Hi all,   I was wanting to start an indoor herb garden in my kitchen, and I'm curious if you all know anything about herbs that are harmful to dogs.  I'm sure too much of anything isn't a good thing- but it's going to be rather small.  (I do live in an apartment, after all).   I can find lots of sources about which *foods* are bad for dogs-but I couldn't find anything about herbs in particular.  I have cilantro, basil, dill, chives, sage, and rosemary.    Marty loves to look out the kitchen window, where I was planning on keeping the garden.  Should I make a high shelf so he can't get near it?  Or is the danger relatively small?   Thanks in advance! • TAOofGoldyShep Posted : 11/15/2006 10:06:43 AM One of the canine health books I have has a list of poisonous plants.  Also, I know of a certified herbalist that can steer you in the right direction.  She knows what would be harmful and beneficial for animals, etc.  Let me know if you're interested and I'll check with her to see if it's okay for me to pass along her contact info.
