Advantix v. Frontline for ticks

Frontline for ticks Angela J Posted : 11/12/2006 9:52:29 PM I was just wondering if anyone had any experiences with these medications with ticks.  Annie was on frontline for a while and she has never had any trouble with fleas or ticks, until we noticed some recently.  Then we switched her to advantix and its only been about two weeks since we applied the medication and I have found atleast 7 ticks on her.  I was thinking about switching her back to frontline.  Does anyone have any preferences  between the two? • corvus Posted : 11/13/2006 1:59:17 AM We have paralysis ticks over here that can kill dogs, so this is a pretty serious matter for us. Advantix is still reasonably new over here, so I haven't had much experience with it. We usually use Frontline for fleas because it's waterproof, but don't rely on it for the ticks just in case. However, I have heard several accounts of people finding sick or dead ticks on their Frontlined dogs. I don't know what kind of ticks you get and how dangerous they are, but I'd be hesitant to trust either entirely, especially as they tend to lose effectiveness towards the end of the month, and sometimes they get wet within 2 days of the treatment and it's pretty much useless. 0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available.
