outdoor dogs

My dogs are outside pretty much 24/7 with weather permitting.  Each of the dogs have their own kennel/den inside our fenced in 2 acre yard.   Our Huskies are aloud outside at night since sleeping inside seems to be uncomfortable for them.  Plus being bred to withstand cold temperatures and their thick coats helps them stay warm.  Our shepherd is not aloud to sleep outside at night since her coat isn#%92t as thick as the huskies in the cold months but in the spring and summer she#%92ll be able to sleep outside if she wants.   I do bring in all the dogs if the weather gets really bad and if one of them gets sick or hurt.   They do spend a lot of time with my husband and me since we live on a 65 acer farm they get to ride on the 4 wheelers and trailers around the farm on a regular basis.   Even though they spend a great deal outside their no way neglected in any shape or form.

I would never leave my dogs outside unless they were safe from predators...we do have coy dogs out this way,but they would have to make a hell of a racket triing to get into the kennel set up i have..another thing is that this set up is within 30 feet of where i sleep..if there is reason for them to make noise,i can only look out my window to see whats up...

thier outside space has always been a work in progress...i constantly think of new things i want to do,money and time permitting .

leaving a dog out shouldnt be a concern as long as conditions for the dogs safety, and  mental and physical health are met...It also depends on the breed...i wouldnt leave my toy poodle out in the middle of winter...(i dont have one btw)

My dogs know if i have one of the others in with me for any period of time..Huskies can be very jealous dogs.

I'm a teenager who, lol, lives in my parents' home so unfortunately I do not have a say in this matter. We have a Lab cross and a Border Collie outside in a protected, fenced, roofed area with their own heated kennels...but I still really wish they could live inside. I am basically the only one who is with them, even though they are the family dogs. I take them out daily and keep them out with me while I do horse chores, then I play/train/etc with them. I've asked for them to come inside, even if just at night in kennels in the laundry room or something. But they won't budge lol! We do have a JRT who lives indoors, though.

Anyways, I personally think that all dogs should be indoor dogs so they can really be family members that are involved with the family in lots of the things they do.
