No stuffed shiba!

    No stuffed shiba!

I wanted to buy my baby a stuffed shiba, so I looked all over the internet and it seems like there's absolutely beautiful stuffed versions of almost every other breed, but none of a shiba inu! There's one from the game "nintendogs" and one from "the dog" but they're both sort of weird looking with gigantic heads. I almost wish I owned a different breed because there truly are some gorgeous stuffed toys of other breeds, like just lifelike.

I'm considering making my own! I have a sewing machine... it might end up a disaster, though, haha.

Occasionally I have seen them on ebay, usually they are ones that people brought back with them from japan, try that, Tina.

I did find one picture of a gorgeous shiba puppy that was an old ebay listing. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled.

I can't believe the breeds I'm finding and yet there's no shiba inu...

I mean really! It kills me.

At the last show I was at I saw a couple stuffed Shibas, actually. I can't remember the name of the company who had them at the moment, but if I do, I'll let you know. Lol...I have the same problem trying to find Toller related things, recently though it's become a bit easier.

Do they usually sell stuffed animals at dog shows? If so, I should go to some big ones.

I NEVER see Am Staff stuff either with the exception of mugs and calendars and the all-too-common tshirt.  Oh well...sigh.

A few years back, a basenji owner talked Steiff into making a basenji.  Wasn't cheap but I got one.  About a year ago the Basenji Club of Northern CA found a company to make a special run of stuffed basenjis.  So far I have the red/white, the tri and the black/white basenjis.  Now I'm waiting for them to do the brindle.

Maybe you could ask them  and find out the company;  then see if there is enough interst in the Shiba community to do an order.

I emailed Steiff[:)]. I think if there's enough interest to make a basneji, there must be to make shibas. I am seriously surprised that there aren't shiba inus, I totally thought it would be easy to find one! And it's not like they only make super common ones like labs. Anyway, I also emailed a lady who does custom stuffed animals to get a price estimate... it would probably be really expensive, but hey, no harm in asking, right?
