dang it, i accidentally left the local announcement channel on too long, and the shelter show is on, i've whined about this before. i should have known better, its always on at the same time on thurs, fri, sat and sun. now my almost 3 yo is glued and i cant change it, she keeps saying we can get this "baby kitty mom, we can get this baby puppy, aww soo cuute, look at that mom, that baby needs a home".......this is sooo heartbreaking. we can't have any of them, i cant look at her or the puppies and kittens. waaa!

now she's saying we can get this kitty crumby....crumby was my parents cat that passed last year. they are all "kitty crumby's" to her, i hate this show.

a few months ago they had this pretty little girl, pepper, there. she was the closest thing to berserker i have ever seen and it was killing me to see her there, i was so heartbroken trying to find her a home because i could not have her and she looked so sad, made me think of what berserker would be like had he been there. so one day she just wasnt on the website or the show anymore, and i balled, she had been there forever and was suddenly gone and there was no mention of her at all i assumed the worst. so for weeks i was upset about this, but then one day i just happened to look at the happy tails site (adopted pets) and she was there!!!!! i was so so so happy, and the crazy thing is the next day i went to show someone and they had cleared all the adopted dog pics and names to put the newer ones on there. i almost missed her being adopted and would have had her in the back of my mind for life. ever since then though i just can't watch the show. ally is now pointing at one of the dogs saying i wanna get this guy out of there.....i am raising another bleeding heart dog lover, i should not let her watch this.

I know what you mean, I try not to watch shows like that either, I always end up crying my eyes out. Hoping I could bring everyone home.

I still get chills when I see a Katrina reunion episode, now and then.

a couple years ago,before we adapted Kovu,there was a segment on the local 6 o'clock news featuiring animals from various shelters needing homes.

(it is run weekly by the weather guy who is a dog person)

anyway,one day we saw a dog the same age and markings as our girl Kiara,but he was a boy..the next day we went to the shelter,and he was allready adopted out...They would have looked like bookends,the only difference bieng that the boys one blue eye was on the other side of his face.
