It's Louise's first really cold day and she is crazy, running around in circles all over the sand, racing with her friend Maple, a boxer puppy, and doing perfect off-leash heels and dropping on 'wait's all the way down the boardwalk! We've been working on heel all week and I'm so impressed with her. She also dropped other dogs' toys when asked, which is serious progress since about a month ago she suddenly became obsessed with others' toys and simultaneously "forgot" her drop command. Stolen toys are the most valuable things in the world aside from stolen food. A sweet man fed her kibbles and gave me handfuls to bring along for the rest of our walk.

I can't believe that only 6 months ago I was staring at her and wondering how in the world I would ever get her to listen to me and thinking this might be the biggest mistake ever.
