    Good Indoor Activities?

Does anyone know of any good indoor activities that will provide good physical and mental excersize for smaller dogs?

It is starting to get colder outside and I don't know how much of the cold Hercules will be able to handle (especially in the winter).

Harley, my Shih Tzu likes fetch. Toss a toy or ball and let them chase it then do it again.  Harley also likes to play Gettum..I say gettum and tap my hands on the floor and he plays and runs around with the zoomies comes back I say it again and he zips around the house.  Try hiding treats around the house and then have him sniff them out and eat them.  Work on teaching your dog new tricks too.

Great ideas, Firestorm. I definitely second the fetching. Our boys are large, but fetch could entertain them forever! Ours really enjoy playing Tug of War with us as well.

I have two big dogs, but you can certainly do these things with her little guy.  These are some games I play with my boys when it is raining outside, to hot or to cold.

    1. I play hide and seek with their toys.
    2. I wrestle with mine.
    3. I set up a mini jumping course with brooms and pillows.
    4. I play ball in the house.  I know you aren't supposed to throw a ball in the house, but when you can't go outside sometimes you have to bring games inside.
    5. I work on their obedience.
    6. I teach them a new trick.
    7. I play hide and seek with them.  I leave them in one room and I go hide.  Once I hide I call them.  They can find me pretty fast somethimes.
    8. I do all their grooming and then we play

Your welcom to do any of these.  Have fun that is what it's about.
