    Reintroducing Marlowe, CGC!!!

Yes ladies and gentlemen, Marlowe passed his CGC test tonight! As a matter of fact, he was the only dog in the class that passed! I can't even really take that much credit for it because ever since DH broke his ankle, our training time together has dwindled to next to nothing.

So, a big hand for the Mar-Mar! [:D] That's my boy!

    Good boy Marlowe!

I have a soft spot for you, Marlowe.  My very first teddy bear that I had for years and years when I was a kid was named Marlowe, so I smile every time I see your name.  [:D]  Plus, you are one cute hound!  WTG for making your mama proud!

Congratulations-as a hound person, I truly appreciate what a significant accomplishment this is for both of you.  And what a testament it is to how much Marlowe values his pack-(family)-as hounds can be very much "if I feel like it"
Hopefully everyone is showing Marlowe how proud they are of his newfound social skills..... Are you planning on trying to go further with him now that the groundwork has been laid....?????

Thanks everyone! I just can't even describe how it felt when the trainer said, "Well, first off, let's congratulate Marlowe, he passed the test! And for the rest of you, well, you all did great and can try the test again soon." I just about died right where I stood! We all clapped and Marlowe was totally like "Oh! For me! Yay! *wag wag wag*!"

We'll be starting tracking soon, maybe in a couple months. There's a place here that offers a class, but the one that is in session right now is at 8 AM on Tuesdays, so yeah, not possible for the working girl. But, I wrote them and asked if they're going to be offering it again at some time a little bit more work-friendly and they said they were really going to try. So, yay! Also, I'm finding myself very tempted by agility. Marlowe is a Dog of Action and hates just standing around, and he's a lean, fast little boy, so maybe. And the whole reason I initially wanted the CGC is for him to be a therapy dog, because I've never seen a dog who's so good with people poking, prodding, pulling, crowding, petting, etc.... He just stands there and takes it, which is just amazing.

So, the world is our oyster and we're very proud of him. I'm a very contrary personality, so of course I have hounds and of course I have to do stuff with them that people generally don't think hounds are able to do. Yeah, me and my hounds go very well together, personality-wise!

YAY Marlowe - you must be so proud!  Was there a part of the test that you were most proud of??  What part did you worry the most about before the test (and how did it go)???

ORIGINAL: houndlove so of course I have hounds and of course I have to do stuff with them that people generally don't think hounds are able to do.

    I couldn't agree more![:D] GO HOUNDS!
