    What nerve

Today I took Blue with me to work and as were walking home from work I see a lady out with her daughter on their scooters. So we're in front of them when I hear the lady telling her daughter behind me it's too skinny.  Then she stopped me asking if he was a pure Siberian Husky.

There is no one around at all and I knew she was telling her daughter my dog was too skinny. I wanted to bash her in the head with my bag of bedding and just go home. Instead I told her what kind of mix he was and let them pet him. Telling them he is well behaved and even mention the vets brag about he is perfect weight and condition.

I just hate when people say this about Blue behind my back when I can hear it then want to ask questions or pet my dog like I shouldn't be ticked off. I'm just tired of hearing my dog is underweight and I need to get weight on my dog.

alot of people dont understand the high energy of huskies and northern breeds...i HATE seeing an overweight husky..

My girl and boy are 50 and 55 lbs respectively and have a nice hourglass figure.

I just hate seeing over weight dogs. The worse is when they think it's funny.

The problem is, not many people have seen many dogs at a proper/normal weight.  They see pudgy dogs all the time and think it's the norm.

My Rottie is overweight, & even I have caught myself thinking some of the Rottie's that come in for boarding are underweight and skinny...then I have to shake some sense into my head and realize these dogs are what the breed "should" look like.  It's basically the norm what people see that becomes what they expect.

I wouldn't be upset with a comment like that at all.  I get that about Beau at times because you can see his ribs. I just explain to peoplewhat a proper weight in a dog is[:D]  I've had people tell me my Rottie looks great and well muscled...and I explain to them that she is pudgy.
