Flat buckle or quick release collar?

I use a hunting collar for Dodger - its a waterproof buckle collar and is the only kind that lasts with him![:)]

I call Max's collar *quick release* - it has a black snap section where one part just snaps into the other.  To open it, I squeeze the sides and pull it out.  I've never had any problem with it breaking or coming open.

My parents' dog, Loki (chowXsheperd), had a collar with a plastic snap but it didn't last long. I was playing fetch with him on a leash and the ball rolled out of the leash's range, and when he went after it, he just broke out of that collar without even flinching. It was busted good and I had to rush out and buy a buckle one. Now with Tojo I have one with a snap, because he's not nearly strong enough to break out of it and I like to take his collar off when he's inside and it's way easier to get on and off. I'm thinking of getting a rolled leather buckle collar, though, because the reason I like to take his collar off is because I hate the way it messes up his thick fur, and the rolled leather might not do that.
