Ummmmm, tell my ankle that cotton is better.......my doc saw the ankle this week and wanted to know if I'd been abducted and tied up for several days!  Nope, Doc, just 50 foot of cotton clothes line ripping into my skin.....

I use the big FAT yellow ski rope type now......and Jennie, you're probably right that it could rip my hands to shreds, but its soooo much easier to avoid on the ground!

glad you were able to  find your dog. I  dont know if I would go to  a dog park with out a fence!

Glenmar- I had an expierence like that, one of the pugs ran around me and my sister had the leash.  It was one of those retractable ones and the dog ran a circle around me and then took off and the line cut into the skin behind the legs. Owww.

lokis_mom- your dog park is 19 acres. wow ares isnt even a acre. Fenced though. Is it all fenced?

Yeah, it's all fenced. They started off with a 3 acre section, which I thought was perfect. But they fenced in another 19 acres for big dogs next to the small park. And now I never see my dogs when we go to dog park. We don't get to go much, because they both run in opposite directions and I can't be in two places at once. [&:]

Oh yes, I have a couple scars from those retractables!  Ouch is right.

My doctor actually measured the darned thing and it's 1/3 inch wide and runs from the middle of the front ankle bone to the back ankle bone......when I mentioned that it didn't bleed at all, he said that the rope had cauterized the flesh as it bit into it.....the rope buried itself in my ankle! [:o][:-]

Now I use the nice wide and very visable rope!

Glenmar- Ouch, srry to  hear that had to hurt. Well  you live and learn.

Lokis_mom- I understand I have trouble making sure that the two of mine I bring to  the park are fine. Can't be in two places at once. But if they were in 19 acres wow. Hard time. lol =)

I think the dog tracker/ radio collar sounds like a great solution for the area you are going to.
I'm so glad my dog is a velcro dog..I'd be a mental mess if he disappeared.
Happy to know your dog is back with you and safe.
