the shelter's annual walkathon fundraiser was today. Since Molly isn't great w/people I had asked if they prefer I raise money and walk, or work it. Raise money and walk - good for Molly go be amongst dog people.
So I did that!!! And I am honored to say Molly and I (aka me) raised the most pledge $$ for individual walker category [

] I got a prize (18 holes of golf and I wouldn't be caught dead at a golf course so Beau's dad is getting the gift cert).
Anyway Molly was absolutley WONDERFUL GLORIOUS She made me proud!!!!
Not one inappropriate bark, she played with little dogs (mostly little dogs - she was fascinated by them and very gentle with them). People petted her, played with her, kids walked up to her. She was the only GSD there. One man came up to me and said "ma'am, could my daughter pet your dog. We lost our Shepherd this past January and she misses him and would love to pet your dog". Molly was having such a good day I was thrilled to let the girl pet her.
Kids were running past, people walking past and petting dogs everywhere - Molly never once took offense. It was great.
Then when my name got called to go get our prize I took Molly up with me and she does this thing where I hold a treat in my hand and say "treat" she sits right down, very regal, and looks up at me until she gets the treat.
So when the shelter lady was talking I said "treat" (I had one in my hand) Molly's butt hit the ground and she sat there looking at my face the entire time.
And I've been busy w/2 new fosters who are ill - coccidia and in heat. Both cats were left taped in a box outside a PD and stress has set in. One is doing very well the other is improving.
So I've been busy - reading posts but not posting much
