] I'm new to the forum and would like to introduce myself. My name is Melissa and I am 14 years old. I absolutely LOVE animals, especially dogs. My family and I raise guide dog puppies for the Guide Dog Foundation For the Blind Inc. We have raised a total of 4 puppies. Our first puppy was Nuncio. Nuncio was a golden lab and a real stubborn pooch. He had quite the attitude but he loved working. He graduated and is paired up with a Blind man named Sal. Sal lives not that far from me but we haven't been able to plan a day to get together, due to my mother losing his phone number. Our second puppy we raised was Starlight. Star was a BEAUTIFUL Golden Retriever. She was such a good girl and loves to go out to stores. She graduated and is now working with her best bud, George. The live in Miami, Florida and are a very happy couple. Our Third pup is Maude. Maude is a Black Lab and she has the SWEETEST temperment. She loves to please you and will do practically anything for your love. She is a big mush too! She is actually so good that the foundation decided to make her a breeder. She underwent many tests and they decided she is fit for the job! She turned one in october making her 1 and a half. She was supposed to be bred around the age of two, but she went into season a month ago and they happened to have a AMAZING stud ferom California only a few hours away. Since she will have a vet present at the birth, just in case, they think she will do great. She had an ultra-sound a weeka nd a half ago and she has atleast 5 puppies in that big ole belly of hers. She is doing great and so far only refused her food three times. She is due on May 10 and his having her pups at home with us. She has her own room with a couch, chair, tv, and night stand for when she has them, that way we can sleep in there with her, keeping an eye on her and the pups. Our last but not least pup was Pudding. Pudding was a sad story, she has always been terrified of everything. Because of this not going away this baby girl couldn't become a guide dog. She is a black lab/ golden retriever gross that is black in color. Although we were a bit upset about her failing we welcomed her into our homes with open arms to keep her forever. In addition to Maude and Pudding we also have two other doggies. Bear is a 8 year old mutt. That we rescued from a shelter as a pup. She is getting older and is overweight, weighing in at 100lbs. Her thyroid barely works any more so she has to take meds for that daily. In addition to those meds she has meds for authritus. Jewels is a 10 year old mutt. We rescued her as a puppy from a shelter, when she was on death row. She is a little crazy but we love her so much. She is pretty healthy and is just starting to have a little authritus. Well thats me.. I look forward to hearing all about the rest of you!!

Sounds fun! Welcome to the boards. We love seeing pics of people's dogs if you have any to share. [
