    Pregnant cat???

i have posted 1 other time here.  it was 2 ask about some kittens from the barn that i ride @.  they have all found homes has of about 2 days ago[:D].  but i have been readign about breeding cats & i was wandering how soon after a pregnancy a cat could b bred.  i am looking into mayb start breeding cats in the near future & was just wandering.  the only cats that i have seen that have had kittens keep them throughout the summer (they usually give birth in the spring).

    breeding cats? why?
MILLIONS die in shelters every day - why add to those numbers
Right now I am fostering a beautiful loving 2 year old sealpoint Siamese who was scheduled to be put to sleep over the weekend for the lack of anyone adopting her. she is the sweetest gentlest foster I have had yet.
Do you intend to breed a specific breed of cat? Any idea where to begin? How to obtain a queen, stud. Do you know any responsible cat breeders who would mentor you?
cats can breed again right after their kittens are weaned. This is why one unspayed female cat can be responsible for thousands of cats in their lifetime.
    What I mean by that
if one female has 8 kittens and 2 are female
those 2 female can each have 8 kittens in their first litter
if that litter has 2 female each having 8 kittens, etc. etc
unless you intend to breed a specific breed of cat (siamese, persian, himmie, bengals, etc.) learn about the breed. PErsonality, genetic traits, then find a reputable breeder to mentor you. That involves cat shows AND also being involved in rescue of that breed.
I foster for siamese rescue and there are many REPUTABLE breeders who will also get involved.
Also you need to offer to take kittens/cats back rather than have smeone give them up and put into a shelter to die. Are you prepared to possibly end up with a house full of cats cause of unwanted ones being returned.?
Get involved with rescue instead. It's rewarding and you won't be adding to the problem of the millions of unwanted cats dying in sheltes every single day.
