    What slow-release toy is best?

Hi, I'm Kara and I'm new to the forum...do any of you use some of those slow-release toys (like buster cubes) to feed your dogs? I have used a propel bottle for the longest time and now it takes Sam about 8 seconds to dump it all out. The hardest ball (he's very food motivated and I'm sure he would work for hours to get all his breakfast out) Is what I am pretty sure I am looking for. Any reccomendations? He eats 1 cup of food, and I woud be willing to refill only about 2-3 times.

    Thanks

No ideas for you, other than maybe a kong, which I do use a lot.

    But, welcome to idog!

I have a Buster Cube, which will hold a cup of food, but after a while the dog gets better at emptying it, and can do it faster. It's still better than 8 seconds though. I also have a kong, and in order to hold a cup, you need the largest size one. You can mix it with yogurt, or probably a little water would work, and freeze it once your dog knows how to do it, but mine wouldn't go for it that way, it was too slow for him, so I can't freeze it if I want him to eat. I have also put food into an Orbee Ball. I would suggest a large one for doing this, otherwise you'll drive your self nuts trying to get the food in. If you mix it with a little yogurt, it does take a while to get out. Also, if your dog likes to fetch, you can use the Orbee Ball for that too. I am told lots of dogs really like it, but not mine, unless there is food in it.
