    paint in carpet!

Does anyone have any suggestions for getting bright red latex paint out of carpet? I've tried resolve and running it over with my steam cleaner several times, and no success. My boyfriend is an art studio major, and spilled a pint of paint in my living room :/

My mom came over here a few days ago to obsess over the paint I spilled my carpet (I wasn't overly concerned since I'm changing the floor anyway). She used hairspray to get it out. The paint was light, and it was on light carpet, so I'm sure that was easier to get out than red paint.

Hmm, I spilled a bottle of RED fingernail polish on my beige blah carpet. Arrrggghh. I used a whole bottle of fingernail polish remover to get most of it, but there is still a big pink smear. [:@]

The landlord hasn't seen it, there's a dog bed on top of it. [8|] I can't believe I spilled it. What a dork.[&:]

Hairspray, eh? I would try Goof-off but I'm afraid it will melt the carpet! Goof-off works with latex paint, too, but it's incredibly TOXIC the fumes are very persistent.

Laquer thinner and a toothbrush... works wonders!

Ouch....as long as it hasn't dried, I think I would flood it with water, and use a wet vac to get it up...as many times as is needed.

It may also work for the nail poilsh, I think it would work for just about anything at all... the smell goes away better than you would think...

    Funny Story...
2 years ago my bf and I found a stray dog running around the wal-mart parking lot. Being the people we are, we picked her up. She was dirty, matted, very thin, and desperate for a loving hand.

We kept her for a total of about a week. She was an excellent,  well-behaved, very stunning dog (just a bit bigger than Sierra).
The problem? VERY bad case of SA.
bf and I both had full time jobs, so we put her in Sierra's kennel when we left, and Sierra was allowed to roam. When we came back from work, she had chewed through the plastic vari-kennel where the ventilation holes are. She also scratched up the entire inside of the kennel.

Being the smart people we are [8D] we left her in the living room the next day, to see if her problem was only with the kennel.

    Nope.

When we came back, the carpet (and the white dog.. lol) was completely covered in green paint (I was painting back then too..).  Lucky for us, the carpet was dark brown.

We used the Lysol bathroom cleaner (with teflon!). We sprayed it all over the carpet and soaked it up. It was enough that the landlord never found out!

I've attached a photo of our wal-mart dog. We surrendered her to the shelter. I hope she found a good home.

Maybe try Goo Gone. I had a big huge purple candle spill all over a cream colored carpet and it cleaned it up perfectly. I used a rag to rub it into the carpet, a wooden ruler to scrape the color out of the carpet and a sponge to clean it all up after.

Goo Gone might work.  It gets bumper stickers off cars and you know what a b*tch they are to remove.[:D]
