Yep, another hurricane season. We went last week and bought all of our hurricane food, candles, supplies, etc. We live at the beach in Wilmington, NC so we get a lot of that crappy bad weather. SOO glad we are moving back to Ohio...hmm to tornado area...LOL

Good luck, all you guys in *hurricane country*.  Hopefully, this year won't be as bad as last year. Isn't this kind of early?  I always thought hurricane season started closer to the end of July.

What they didn't note in the article is that a number of Katrina deaths are ancilliary. That is, if someone died in route in evacuation or suffered and died from a heart attack due to the stress of dealing with Katrina, it was listed as a Katrina death, even if it didn't directly result from flooding or missile impact.

Also, Katrina made landfall as a cat 3 and swerved over Grand Isle and hit near Gulfport, Miss. It only side-swiped New Orleans with the "clean" side of the storm. The levees were built to withstand a cat 3 and didn't even do that. Levees are currently being rebuilt to a cat 3 level.

Well, as long as it's a little rain maker, it'll be welcomed. It's beyond dry here.
