Gina I went on to the Exorcist lol, I was a big King fan until recently. But I will let a kid read whatever it takes to get them reading although the scary stuff not so much lol.

I remember starting with "See Spot Run." (dogs, of course) According to my mom, before I could officially read, I was pulling encyclopedias off of the bookshelf and going through them. It's a lifelong habit I can't seem to stop.

Can't remember the first, but I really enjoyed the Judge Benjamin books (stories about a saint bernard and his family) and Where the Red Fern Grows. [:(] Makes me cry just thinking about that one.

My first chapter book was a series about three girls with their horses and they went on adventures. I know one horse was named Strawberry.

That was when I was eight then I started reading Goosebumps.

It's sad, I really can't remember what the first chapter book was that I read...I know I read a lot of Babysitters club books that I would steal from my sister when she wasn't looking...[;)]

Unfortunately, I'm the youngest of five so my mom never really had the time to read to me at night.

Would it be silly if I read Charlotte's Web now? I've never even seen the movie...Funny, I feel a lil pathetic right now [8|]

Charloette's Web was my first chapter book too. I was so excited reading a book with very little pictures!! I remember I was about 6 at the time.

I watch Disney movies. And one of my favorite movies is "It's a Wonderful Life" the prime of Capra-corn. Frank Capra made several good guy movies and they were labeled "Capra-corn."

So, yes, you can read "Charlotte's Web."

Ron - not to hijack the thread but we love It's A Wonderful Life too.  On Christmas Eve there was a cinema here that showed it on the big screen - it was wonderful.

Generally, I love Jimmy Stewart - "Harvey" gets watched every couple of months in our house.
