    What a surprise

I borrowed a chicken from a neighbor to lay on some duck eggs, because I had too many eggs and not enough hens. So it's almost due for the eggs to hatch, and I go check this morning. Well this is what I found........a baby chicken.[sm=eek.gif]

Ya that baby chick was with my duck eggs. under the chicken. The chicken must have laid an egg when she came here and has been sitting on it the whole time. Chicks hatch in 21 days and ducks are 26 which means my ducks should hatch 2-3 days.

[sm=lol.gif] Do you get to keep it?

Ya I called the neighbor and she said she is done hatching and all of her babies are too big now, so I am welcomed to keep it. SO if it's a hen that works out great because mine were killed last year and I havn't gotten around to getting more. It's so nice to have fresh eggs. BUT if it turns out to be a rooster, he'll be BBQ'd. LOL
