Grant killed the "Le Bistro" water cooler thing for the dogs a couple of weeks ago. So, I've just been filling a couple of large stainless steel bowls for water. But, they go through that fast, and have emptied it a few times before I notice to refill it.

About a week ago, the bowls were dry, and Harry was thirsty. I heard this banging noise in the bathroom, and went to see what it was. To my astonishment, there was Harry, attempting to nose open the toilet lid. I went and filled the dishes for him.

Just a few minutes ago, Harry noticed that the bowls were empty. He jumped up on the counter and grabbed the pitcher that we use to fill the dishes, then offered it to my BF.

I seriously need to get a new Bistro. When that ran out, he would punch off the water bottle on top and bring me the bottom. Such a subtle dog!

Is the bistro one of those containers you can fill and the water fills up a bowl? Dogs can be so clever sometimes lol. Yours sound like funny guys! My dog shares the water bowl with our cats and when its empty he either try to get my attention by being super hyper around us and pawing at us or he'll just sit there for minutes on end pawing and dragging his bowl around the kitchen floor clinking it around until we go and fill it. Does the same with his food bowl lol.

Abbi  a malinois bitch who has since gone to the bridge would turn on the water on the "dog" porch.  The handle had to be removed because she would turn the water on, but never bothered to turn it off.
I love belgian myth.  One of the myths that influenced by decision to switch breeds comes from a national specialty obedience trial.  In utility a bitch was sent on a go out for directed jumping.  She was given the command for a jump (varies whether it was high or bar).  She went to the jump,,,,up in the air,,,,and PERCHED on the jump for a few seconds.  Hopped off for a perfect front.  Judge wasnt even sure how to score that.[:D]

[sm=rofl.gif][sm=clapping%20hands%20smiley.gif] Good Job Harry! I wish my dogs could do that. The cats used to be able to tell us when they were out of water, but unfortunately the one we had when we got Millie never taught her to do it.

I have had to replace my Belmont Springs water cooler twice, because my dog decided he prefers ice cold spring water right from the tap.  He chews the lever until he eventually loosens it, and get a nice cold stream going.

Of course, I come downstairs to five gallons of water on the kitchen floor, but at least the dog isn't thirsty any more.
