I thought that it was illegal to sell wolf hybrids who were more than 24% wolf blood-after that point, they were not longer considered as domestic animals and hence couldn't be liscenced to live in populated areas? We would hope the local DNR and animal control groups are looking into that Ad for the 3/4 wolf pups.
Depends upon the laws of your state. In texas, buying or selling a full wolf is elligal but hybrids are not addresed....anything 99% and under is legal. (However your individual city/county may have more stringent laws). I own a 50% and have never had any legal issues with it.
I thought it was 97% and under in Texas, but I can't tell you why I was under that impression. Texas is very lax about exotics unfortunately. I see lots of wolfdog ads in papers all the time too. Those make me really sad too.
The reason it's 99% and under is because the law actually doesn't even mention hybrids at all...it says that owning "a wolf" is illegal without a permit but there is no mention of hybrids at all, making it basically legal to own anything not "pure wolf".
Here is how the law is worded (info courtesy of the National Wolfdog Alliance) [font="helvetica, arial"]"No person in Texas may possess, transport, receive or release a live wolf in this state." Wolf Hybrids are not regulated at the state level; however, some counties and municipalities have local regulations regarding these animals.
