I'm wondering why the padding is not washable? If its just foam like the stuff for camp matresses, couldn't you just throw it in the shower, soap it up like a sponge and wring it out? That's what i do with my camp mattresses after each summer. It takes about 2 hours to dry if i leave it in the sun, flipping it everyonce in a while. Thats 4" foam.
I don't imagine she has too many potty accidents in her crate does she? Mine don't have any.
I'm not sure if it's washable. It feels very synthetic to me. It's that "egg carton" stuff, very porous like a cheap sponge, I don't know what it's really called. It's different than the closed-cell foam used in backpacking pads.
I don't anticipate any accidents from her, more like accidents from the cats or people spilling stuff, or her going in there with food or a treat and making a mess, or going in with wet/muddy paws....I'd rather be able to just throw the covers in the wash and not have to wash the foam too, but I may just be too lazy to think of a better solution.[
