It will not stop an attack. If you have an asthma attack do not rely on singulair to stop the attack. Use your rescue inhaler.

Just saying it prevents them quite well and you can take it prior to your common triggers and it is clinically proven to prevent attacks better then a rescue inhaler. This is particularly good for exercise induced asthma. Rescue inhalers are not always a good idea if you have underlying cardiac disease so it's a great addition to decrease the amount of time you need to use them. It's actually one of the most prescribed maintenence meds currently.
