Deadliest Catch Episode 2

SPOILER....if you haven't seen it don't read on.

I was incredibly bummed to see that 3 of the 4 men did not make it. Totally sad. The one guy, you could just see he was so buzzed off of just almost dying he was chattering like a bird...adrenaline...looking at and touching his buddies bodies and telling how it all went down. Intense.

Sig at the end about had me bawling. He was SUCH a hard ass early in the show about it...but at night...when he's alone aside from the camera and he can really think about it...wow...that was poignant I think.

GREAT episode.

They didn't have any footage of the Ocean Challenger wreck, did they? Obviously they didn't have a cameraman on board that ship.

It's just so unfortunate that the 3 other guys never made it into their survival suits or the life raft. And I can't believe it took just 5 minutes (according to Kevin, the survivor), for that ship to sink!! [:-][:-]

I didn't catch the whole episode, but that part where Sig started losing it really got to me too. I haven't seen all of episode one yet, either. DH made me turn it at the part where that guy's leg broke. DH has broken his leg twice and is VERY sensitive to that sort of thing.

Gina...I'd bet it wasn't a crab boat but a "fishing boat" having only 4 members would not work for crabbing I'm thinking, they never mentioned it being a crab boat but always said "fishing vessel".

He (survivor) said the boat didn't "come back around" and Mike said it capsized...meaning went over upside down. That can indeed happen quickly (remember the rogue wave from last season?) esp on a smaller boat like I suspect a 4 man boat would be...likely loaded with heavy equipment for hauling nets and such. I figure in something like that...savvy seamen would spend a few minutes up to several...trying to 'fix" the issue...which the survivor confirmed. Then you try to get organized and get people OUT. But if they are all freaking out or paralyzed? Man...I wouldn't even want to imagine being in that...but I could see it could happen very quickly.
