    Walk The Line

My Gosh, I just loved this movie. I have watched it about 3 times and just can't get enough. The music is wonderful. They did a great job.

I LOVED it too! I was sorry to see that it didn't get the Best Picture oscar last night. I only saw it once but I could NOT stop thinking about it for days and days afterwards. We see so many movies and most are just "good"...I don't find myself raving about many of them to others. But this one I definitely DID.

I agree!!  I walked out of the theatre thinking, "I can't wait to see it again."  What a great movie!!!  I'm so glad Reese Witherspoon won Best Actress.  I thought her acceptance speech was the best.  I wish Joaquin Phoenix had won Best Actor...but he was up against some tough competition.  What did you think of Jon Stewart?  Was he not hysterical?  [:D]

Jon was very funny. Last night was one that I really enjoyed. I just wishe they did all the good stuff first. I'm so glad Reese won. I laughed so hard at the joke Jon made about Rus Crow.

I've got the soundtrack to the movie it's great. My daughters fav song used to be Hunka Burnin Love now it's Cry, Cry, Cry.

The wife and I took my 17 year old son to see the movie.  My wife and I loved it.  The boy thought he might have enjoyed it more if he had a clue who Johnny Cash is.  Kids.  [:D]

I grew up listening to Johny and June Carter Cash, I really liked the movie as well!  I was glad Reese won, she is such a sweetheart.  I wish the movie would have gone further into Johnny Cash's walk with Christ since that was such a huge part of his and Junes life.  Maybe if were lucky there will be a part two!

I think the show had some funny moments. I loved the joke about Biork being shot by Dick Cheney as she got into her costume. LOL Jon Stewart was pretty good, definitely better than Chris Rock or David Letterman (they were painful to watch). I still don't think anyone can top Billy Crystal though. [:)]

I sure agree with the fact that no one can be better than Billy Crystal. It was good last night though, except I don't get to  many movies so I watched it while doing other things. I did get to see "Walk the Line" though and also thought it was good. I LOVED Johnny Cash when he was younger, thought he was so cool.  I thought I remember reading that this movie was in the making before he died, anyone hear that?
It unbelievable how good the singing was in the movie, wasn't it?

I just saw the movie this weekend and thought it was excellent. I was very impressed by the singing, too.

    Dyan,

That's right; it was a project that "was developed for seven years with the close cooperation of Johnny Cash & June Carter Cash before their deaths in 2003" according to the [linkhttp://www.walkthelinethemovie.com/]movie's website[/link].  Cool site!  Check it out.

Both our kids (18 and almost 24) know who Johnny Cash is.  They had no choice with me as their mom.  LOL  The question is do they listen to him?  It's safe to say no, even tho our oldest listens to country music, but it's "new" country.
We were going to rent Walk the Line over the weekend, but the video store was all out.  :(  Eventualy I know I'll end up owning a copy myself, tho.

I haven't seen it (or any other of the contenders for that matter) but loooove Johnny Cash.  it goes back to my childhood when my surrogate grandpa, Uncle Jimmy (only related by love, not blood) would listen to him.  Man, that man's voice reminds me of some gooood times.  Uncle Jimmy has been dead eleven years now and I STILL miss the man[:(].

My DSs are 12 and 13 and yes, they know who The Man in Black is!

I'm 26, I grew up listening to all of the older country, Elvis, Johnny Cash. I love it. My dad sang all of this stuff for years in a band. I would be on stage singing with him when I was 4. My dad died the day before my son was born 8 years ago. I still listen to all of this music, it keeps me close to him. My kids love it as well. My husband hates the music, he thinks I'm crazy because my 3 year old daughter can tell you every Elvis song and sing it for you. My son wants to play guitar, and loves to sing Johnny Cash songs. LOL
