    Movie rant-Blood & Chocolate

what a huge, ghastly departure from a very, very  good book! It was a TINY book...they could have kept it JUST the way it was written and had a great movie that would have appealed to the same teeny audience they appear to be courting with the crap they're actually putting out under the title.

GRRRrrr....why must Hollywood take gold and turn it into crap again and again...sigh. Now I am SO incredibly glad that LoTR came out as well and true as it did, must've taken a true herculean effort on the part of the authors estate and Peter Jackson being the cool dude he is.

On a happier note...Blood & Chocolate is a young adult title about werewolves, I highly recommend it if you are into that sort of thing.

"Artistic license."  That's why and I agree with you.  I loved that book and even bought it for a number of people.  I usually try to stay away from movies based on books I adored.  I'm usually sadly disappointed.

Unfortunately, Hollywood seems to have lost their touch to make decent movies.  I work part time for a video store, and you wouldn't imagine the crap that they put out!  I get so tired of hearing people as if we have this popular crappy movie or that even more popular crappy movie that made millions in box office money, but offer NOTHING besides mindless entertainment or was made horribly (i.e. MANY remakes).  Don't get me wrong, I occassionally want to watch something mindless, but that's not the only thing I want to watch.  *sigh*  I try to keep faith that people will wise up and actually want something more than just mindless entertainment (i.e. reality TV, or anyone as tabloid headliner who can't act themselves out of a paper bag) or a remake of an older or foreign movie (i.e. Texas Chainsaw, Wicker Man, Oldboy, Ringu, Miami Vice, etc.), but I don't see that happening anytime soon.
