Is there a way to keep toads out of the swimming pool?

I know that's probably a stupid question, but maybe someone here knows something I don't.

I'm pulling out several per night... and I don't always see them before they die [sm=sad.gif]

I think they sell floating things for pools that a toad can climb onto and float, subsequently jumping out. The problem is, they can't get out of the pool once in sine there are no accessible edges. If you get one of those things, it acts like a lilly pad in nautre and they can pull themselves onto it to rescue themselves!

OMG, Meilani, that picture cracked me up! We get toads when they are looking for water, and Biscotti goes bezerkus. Of course I never have the camera with me!

Thanks for the idea outdoorschik, I'll look for those... but I wonder if they can use the Skamper-Ramp I'm going to get for the dogs?

Fat Little Hop Toad was a pet. He lived in the terrarium and sadly, he went to the Big Terrarium in the Sky a few months ago. The dogs never bothered him. They were intrigued by him because he would "croak" to them and they'd sit there trying to figure out what he was saying.

I've heard of using a garden hose with both ends burried to look like a snake.
