NO water and NO school!!!! :( :( :(

All I wanted for Christmas was for my kids to be in school yesterday, today and tomorrow. Not happening though. Our city is having to replace 1000 feet of pipe because of several leaks and that has caused low water pressure or even NO water to our side of the city. I got a call from my son's teacher yesterday asking for me to pick him and his brother up from school. They were shutting down because the toilets weren't working. This morning I checked the news and their school is one of the ones that is closed today too. My 3rd son still is able to go to Pre-K because he attends a school on the other side of town.

As for the water, we have to fill up our toilet tanks from the sink to flush. The water pressure is very very low. We have been told to boil water to be able to drink it.  I am wondering if the rain we are getting today will interfere with the progress in repairing the city pipe leaks.

I do have helpers with wrapping presents today. We may bake a batch of cookies too.

My oldest's vacation started yesterday and boy do I feel for ya sister! We've watched so  much TV already I think they're starting to lose IQ points! Normally they only get an hour a day, so they're in heaven!  Can you just haul everybody off to the mall for a few hours? That's our plan for today since it's threatening rain.

Sorry to hear that.  That's a problem we've never encountered!  My kids' school has been shut down due to Norovirus, blech.   None of  my kids have been sick yet, so I suppose that means we'll get hit right about at Christmas time...

i don't have kids, but i can relate to the water problems. trust me, it isn't so bad...
when i lived in xinjiang one winter some major pipes burst and we had no water for 2 weeks!!!! we washed with bottled water and used big chunks of ice we brought in from outside, to flush the toilets with... ahhh... good old days........
