    President Bill Gates

Is it really going to happen?? My collegues and I discussed this today. Maybe not, but let's imagine anyway..

Speaking of Gates.. what would be the #1 error as a president?

I had an opportunity to meet Bill Gates. Now, being a Mac person, the only thing I could think to say was, "Thanks for doing what you do so Apple can do what they do." Which I don't mean in a snotty way, but it would take a master to say that and get it across neutrally, which IS how I mean it. It takes all kinds, in other words.

This was at Susan Butcher's memorial service. Melinda gave a eulogy for her, and Bill sat in the audience. Later, when everyone was milling around the food tables and visiting, a friend of mine saw a dorky looking nerd standing in a corner looking uncomfortable. Thinking, in typcial Fairbanks fashion, to go make the guy feel welcome, she was about to go chat him up when Melinda, Senator Ted Stevens and other "famous" people (George Lucas was there, too--I was too star-struck to talk to him, and that's saying something for ME!) walked up and guided him back to their group. It was only at that point that my friend figured out that Nerdy Guy was Bill Gates!

He'd be a crappy president, in my opinion. The country is NOT a business.

Look at that last business man who tried to run. Perot. Oh, wait, he was a Ferengi in disguise....those ears.....

In a way this country is like a business, except for the fact that we hand out money to countries that never pay back, and on top of that hate us.........go figure.....[8|]

So basically the only difference between my husband and Bill Gates is a few billion dollars!

    LOL...
Hey he doesn't strike me as a war-monger so he has that going for him! And what else does government do but throw money at problems instead of think? He surely knows a bit about that right?

I don't see him as "throwing money" at problems. I see him putting out really HORRIBLE manuals. [:D][8D]

Imagine if Microsoft got a hold of the IRS tax forms......the mind boggles.....

If Bill Gates became president the US would become the movie Maximum Overdrive brought to life.

Well, certainly the government would crash regularly, we'd have to hold elections several times a year to "reboot" Congress. And just when everything was working smoothly, he'd bring in a whole new Cabinet and staff and the whole world would have start over again in learning how to relate to the administration.

Yeah but our graphics would be awesome!

I think the #1 mistake Bill Gates could make as president is failure to get a decent haircut. He gives the phrase "bad hair day" a whole new level of meaning.
