Update on Dad

• Update on Dad fritz_08 Posted : 12/15/2006 8:06:35 AM Dad had a appointment with a doctor yesterday and there may be encouraging news.It seems Dad's blood has been out of whack,so that might be the problem.The drug that i found on line will help but is $800 a minht,hopefully insurance  will cover some of it and we  only have to pay $100 a month.This doctor finds it odd that  this  disease supposedly went from the lower legs to his voice.We  know somebody else who has this and this didn't happen.he has  to back in January for a couple of times so we will see what happens this.mom thinks this doctor yesterday know more than the one who diagnosed Lou Gehrig's disease. You didn't mention what the drug was, but I have  heard of this one, there is an 800# where the manufacturer will  help w/ the cost.     The monthly cost for riluzole is approximately $600. The manufacturer (Rhône-Poulenc Rorer; telephone, 1-800-340-7502) has established programs to assist patients in gaining access to this drug and other support services.   Also if  I were you or your mom I call MDA for guidance and help.
