The Momma did an amazing job keeping her "cubs" going by nursing both...even the 4 y/o! Amazing woman...I hope they find her husband alive and well...

This is not too far from where I grew up.  It is rugged country. I sure hope dad is found safe and sound!

Glad you posted this - I had not yet seen the wife and children were rescued. Hoping against hope they find the husband/father soon and alive.

I heard about the mom nursing both children on the Today show this morning and it brought a smile to my face.  How wonderful that she could do that.  I truly hope that they find the dad soon and that he's safe....sadly, I don't have a good feeling about it though.

I don't either, tho I am really happy to be wrong. If only he'd just stayed put with the rest of them huh? But I know it'd be so hard to just sit tight and do nothing...esp as "the man"...*sigh*

I am just surprised they didn't have a cell phone, laptop...or maybe it wouldn't have worked anyhow...or Onstar or something. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess!

Yep, I thought the same thing.  I think he'd only set out 2 days ago, but I'm sure they were getting frantic.  I heard they'd even set the tires on fire in hopes that the smoke would be seen.

I hadn't thought about the cellphone....hard to imagine anyone not having one these days, but maybe they couldn't get a signal.

The article mentions that they had a phone but no reception...

Oh heck, I was really hoping he was ok.  How awful that is..

I had heard earlier today that they found what they thot were HIS pants so it wasn't looking good....still, what a shame.

I feel so badly for the family.   Poor guy was just doing what he thought would save them, very sad story.

Oh no...how tragic...I kept praying that he would be found alive.

I too heard about this story and was hoping very bad they they would find the father/husband alive. I feel horrible for the family, and to think if only he had stayed with the wife and children he would have been found along with them. Its sad that he was trying to get help for his family and he ended up dying. It made me realize how easy it would be to get lost and be stranded, especially in the snow. I live in Northern Ca, so I never really thought about it but Tahoe is close to us and next time we go I will make sure we do not take any shortcuts.

CNET is reporting James Kim was found dead.  James was the gadget man on CNET.  I am told he was very interesting and credible to watch as he gave reviews of new computer products.
