    Strong storms in the Southeast

Anyone else in the path?  It's supposed to start getting bad long about now for us.  Biscotti is already started doing her laps around the house and will eventually end up in the bath tub.  I'm getting out the valerian now...

It has been cold and rainy all day.  The forecast says the same will hold true for tomrrow.  Nothing severe, except for wind advisories.  [:o]

We were in Augusta most of the day so we escaped it until we got about halfway back. The rain was so bad at one point that we had to pull over for a while. Right now it's pouring down and thundering pretty badly. My parents live in Columbus, and they said they had a couple of tornados...it was so bad that my younger sister was held in school until after 4 before they finally let the kids go home. Pretty scary... I've got flash lights and oil lamps handy in case the power goes out. Luckily, none of my dogs have a fear of thunder so they're all snoring loudly as if nothing was happening. [:D]

Storms in the South can be monsters.  I've lived here all my life, and we've had some beasts in my time.  One storm ripped the frame of a gas station's lighting system down last year, and knocked power out for thousands in the area.  I remember that one, because I was driving to my parents' house that day.  The aforementioned gas station was damaged moments after I'd passed through the area, but I didn't escape the horrid wind.  I pulled off to the shoulder of the interstate (which I never do, because no one in Knoxville knows how to drive), because it was impossible to see.
