Do you have big ones? Can I see?

I didn't carve any yet, but I did have an accidental pumpkin patch. Brett took some dirt for my flower bed from under my grandfather's persimmon tree, and apparantly, there were pumpkin seeds there (he does plant pumpkins, afterall). Anyway, one day, a leaf popped up, and before I knew it, I had a huge vine. I only have one pumpkin growing because it's so late in the season, so I'm waiting to see if it'll make it.

Odie's pumpkin is really great! Another member did the same thing, and I thought it was really neat: [linkhttp://forum.dog.com/asp/tm.asp?m=170878]http://forum.dog.com/asp/tm.asp?m=170878[/link]. I wish I was that creative.

And yes, pumpkin is good for dogs. It helps "regulate" them. My boys love it, so every couple of weeks they get a big scoop on their food. Keeps everything flowing smoothly and firmly. [:D]

Yes, member a_k_s (and their dog Lady) were the inspiration for Odie's pumpkin. Thanks for the compliments everyone! The hardest part was getting Odie to sit still for the picture! [sm=biggrin.gif]

Basically, just carve the pumpkin out really well. Scrape the side you're going to use as the front so it's very thin on the inside. Take a pattern and use a toothpick to poke holes along the pattern lines onto the pumpkin. Use small knives or pumpkin cutting tools to carve. And enjoy! [:D]
