Woo Whooo, I'm on the waiting list!

I am so excited, I have been looking around for the perfect dog for me and have my mind set on a show quility bearded collie. I did my reserch on the breed and found everything I need to know about the care and grooming of the dog. Then I contacted a few breeders and asked for information on their experiance with the breed. Some I was a little dissapointed with others where extreemly helpful. One offered to sell me a puppy from one of her current litters but when I looked on her website it was too much like a puppy mill. I wanted to make shure the breeder does health screaning before breeding and all.

Finily after talking with one breeder she said she was going to do a breeding in about 6 months and asked if I would like to be on the waiting list. I looked up her dogs and found they had Ch. bloodlines. She gave me very good advice on the breed and seemed very well informed about breeding and everything else. So I am now on the waiting list! I have about 10 months to prepair for my new puppy before I can bring it home. I'm so excited, it's almost like waiting for a kid to be born!

That's exciting! Is she going to sell you a show quality pup or are you going to start with a pet just to get familiar with the breed?

Well, I didn't want to get one right now because I want to ge fimilar with the breed first. Anouther breeder offered to mentor me as I wait for the perfect dog to come my way. She will take me to a few shows and show me around. I have 10 mounts to go to as many agility and dog shows as I can. I am mostly interested in agility so if my pup isn't right for the show ring I'll have agility to fall back on.

But it really just depends on how the breeding goes, if there are enough show quility pups I'll take one of thoes but if it happens that there are not then I'll take the pet quility and still do agility with it. I think to really get fimilar with any breed you have to work with it in some sort of event that the dog does well in. I'm hoping for a dog because I'm not at all ready to start breeding a bitch but I'm shure willing to learn if I decide to do that in the future.

Thanks, I could not stop thinking about my new dog all day today. I was orginizing the reception area and there was a dog fancy magazine with a spotlite on beardies in the corner, I opened to the page and there was a full page pic of a beardie! Then there was a pic of beardie puppies. I told the people I work with and they were very happy for me. I know the pups haven't even been breed yet but I still feel like they are there. Kinda like my new dog is watching me from above and guiding me in the right direction to find him/her. Sounds silly but I just am so excited. Just 10 months away! The breeder contacted me and gave me a list of books to read, I went on amazon and ordered them first thing.
