    Had a BLAST yesterday!

was invited to play in a 3 on 3 game of capture the flag using paint ball guns..lol

we played in an area that was about a 3 acre square of dense and open wooded area, with a couple junked out cars in the middle..

It was a BLAST!..this was my first time out doing this,so i was initiated properly..lol...i was covered in paint by ther end of the day..lol

the gun i was allowed to borrow was excellent..i couldnt miss with it,and managed to hit my enemies at distances of 100 feet and through the woods..lol..i had so much fun,now i want my own gun...at around 150-200 bucks tho,its a bit steep for my budget after buying a new bike...

    anyone else here do this?

I was pretty conservative with my shots, and was doing great working with my partner out flanking our enemies, until he ran out of ammo...then i was screwed,,,lol i did manage to make a couple kills before had to turn and retreat..my backside was pink and blue and green and my neighbor, who was probably the best shot, took delight in hitting me in the butt every chance he could.   lol

I guess you could say we're kind of into paintball- for proof you might need to come see the rolling box in our garage filles with paintballs, markers (guns), pods, and other equiptment. Our boys are into paintball- the youngest big time.  He organized his own scenario team a few years ago (not bad for a kid who's "only" 18 1/2 now).  They've got memebers from 3 or 4 states now.  In fact, he just got back from a one day game up near Scranton, PA.  They've been in Paintball Sports magazine a few times now, and were personaly invited to play at the game the cadets at West Point run.  He really likes to do the historical re-enactment games (Invasion of Normandy, Fall of Saigon, etc).  Can you tell I'm proud of him?  LOL  Anyway, do you know what kind of marker you were using?  Our son has 5 or 6 (I've lost count), but his favorite and most reliable is his first one- a Tippman that he bought about 5 years ago.  He's picked up some used ones for under $100, too.  I think the most unique one he has is an old hand gun, complete with a leather holster.  Someone my husband works with gave it to him last year.  he ahsn't been able to acutaly use it, yet, tho- it takes a slightly smaller sized paintball, and we're having trouble finding it.  I've shot the Tippman a few times- what a blast!  I'm not sure I'm up to a weekend (or even a day) of running through the woods, tho.

    hey there!,
a tippman is exactly what it was...it had a "flat"barrel(not sure what that means)but was told by the players that if i was to buy one,a tippman was what i wanted.

I got into stalk mode when the signal to begin was given, and my adrenalin went into overdrive..lol

I could see where this could be a very addictive sport...i have small welts all over me today,i guess that is the price i pay for bieng the new guy in the game..lol

DH and I LOVE to paintball!!!  His brother lives in the woods and we go over there all the time and play.  Hes got about 5 guns so we dont have our own yet.  We would never get to use them anyway.  Weve gonoe to a pay out somewhere too with a bunch of friends.  DH has always talked about opening a painball place out somewhere and making it really set up for a good game.  Glad you liked it!  Its aweome![:D]  Oh... Im a girl and I think the welts are way worth it, LOL!  They are part of it, and its so much fun you hardly notice.  Wish we could play more...

I had to have our son explain the difference between what you played with and what he has.  He laughed at me because I kept saying flat barrel and not flat line, which is what that kind of barrel is actually called.  Hey- he's lucky I didn't call it a Flat Coated Retriever!  LOL  But yeah, from everything I've heard, Tippmans are the way to go.  I know it's our son's most reliable marker.

I can imagine.  I went up to a one day event at Skirmish in the spring, and couldn't beleive how hyped up everyone was at the end.  If you really want to see people getting into this stuff, you should go to one of Skirmish's scenario events.  The one I was at was Stalingrad.  Some of these guys are so into this stuff that, if I hadn't known better, I would have sworn I had walked into the middle of a Neo Nazi meeting.

Don't have to be the new guy for that to happen.  Our son always comes home with welts.  The only one that bothers me is one he came home with today- right next to his adam's apple.

    i was a tad bit worried about a neck shot,and a shot down the middle,but lower..lol

i wadsnt properly dressed, and next time will wear my army rain coat which covers the neck.

Falling back may have been a mistake. The majoriy of welts appear on my butt, and my wife thought it was hysterical.

I used to think paintball was a bit backwoods..lol

Not anymore, hunting people, and being hunted, non lethaly that is, is most definitley a fun time.

Believe it or not, loose fitting clothes will help protect you from welts.  A bandana around your neck will protect that area.  Our son covers his head with a skull cap or baseball cap (backwards) instead of wearing a helmet style mask (but he won't wear a bandana.  He doesn't like the feel of it around his neck).  The paintballs will break when they hit the hard helmet, but kind of bounce or slide over the hat/skull cap.  He's also got a vest that not only protects his chest and back, but holds his Co2 tanks, pods, remote Co2 hose, etc.  Hmm, I've learned more than I thought from our son!  LOL
