Well, I got a new job. I am now the head of the small animal department, will be filling in as head of aquatics occassionally also, and will be a Canine Education Instructor(fancy name for dog trainer). Overall, the people working there aren't too bad, but there is some stuff I don't agree with in our training. I just keep telling myself, just because it says this here, I dont have to use it! Here are the few things I dont agree with
-Platies can be kept in pure saltwater.(in the manual)
-Rock salt should always be added to aquariums.(this one isn't so bad, but I just prefer not to use salt)
-Bearded dragons and leopard geckos should always have mealworms in their cage.(not really the best food source, especially babies, because of the hard shell)
and my favorite one(a quote from my manager)!!!!
*Dwarf rabbits don't get bigger than 20lbs* Can you imagine a 20lb rabbit?!?!?! I said "Dwarf rabbits are under 5 lbs and thats even pushing it for a dwarf." So, she started to tell me how under 20lbs is tiny compared to the 50lb rabbits. I just said ok and left it at that. She said "we'll just see when we get them." OK, yeah, they're not going to be 20 lbs! Thats almost as big as both of my dogs combined!
Maybe she is just really bad at guessing weights????
