I hate Yahoo!

About a month ago, I had a problem with my website. I called those idiots and they told me that I deactivated it. Totally untrue. So I paid to reactivate it again. Well today, it's not working. I call again and it's the same thing. I was livid. I asked her why on earth would I deactivate it when I was billed for it 3 days ago. So I reactivated it again and she was going to contact the engineers to find out what's going on. She asked if anyone else I know has access to my personal information and would've deactivated it. No one has my information and why would anyone want to deactivate it? It's a website about my pets and animals. So everything was fine for a few hours and I try to log into my email account and it's not working. I tried to check out my website and that wasn't working either. So I called them up and after being transferred a few times, I'm told that my email account and my website has been deactivated for a violation of TOS. How on earth can my pet/animal website be a violation of TOS? I asked the guy and he said he couldn't tell me and that I'd have to email the abuse center at Yahoo. Can you believe that?! I emailed them and haven't heard anything. I am so mad. I have so much stuff on there and I don't know if it's lost. All I know is that I am most definitely creating a new website somewhere else but I have no idea where.

One other point, I did have 2 groups on Yahoo that were deleted. I have a feeling they deleted them because they had "adult" content on them but they were private, unlisted groups that were created under the "adult/sexual content" listings that they have. I mean, I had to list them under the BDSM/Dominance listing but I would think that if they offer those types of places to list your group, what kind of TOS would you violate? Anyways, my groups had nothing to do with my website and I can't seem to get a straight answer as to why it's gone. Angry

You might think about if there's anyone out there with an axe to grind that might've actually reported your website as a violation...I don't think Yahoo actually CHECKS every complaint...they just see how many are coming in and perhaps that's the case here? Someone reporting over and over using fake YahooID's etc? Stranger things have happened!

I've never been to your site, were you using any licensed clip art or gif's etc? That may also be a reason...

I don't know if this helps at all or not or will maybe give you an idea where to go with them.  That really sucks b/c I really liked looking at all the crackhead action on your website!

I say report them to the BBB![:@]

This is good to know. I also use Yahoo as a host for my business website (for about 2 yrs now). I haven't had any problems with them so far. But my advertisers (Verizon) are another story... talking to customer service reps who know nothing and can do nothing to help you is a special brand of 21st century hell.

Kinda makes you wonder exactly what they mean by "customer service" any more, doesn't it? More and more they "know nothing" and can "do nothing" and even if they did know something, it's really hard to find one that speaks English well enough to explain anything.  I think a lot of phone calls to customer service are actually being answered in India or Pakistan - cheaper for the companies that way.

I still haven't heard from Yahoo and in all honesty, I probably won't. I never got a straight answer as to why my groups were deleted and I'm sure I won't get an answer as to how I violated TOS on my Sekc's Zoo website. I can't think of why anyone would report me to Yahoo over an animal website. As far as my groups go, the only people who were on there were those who wanted to be a part of it. It was a private, unlisted group. Either way, I'm still angry about that. I'm angry that I paid another reactivation fee this morning and I'm angry that I did not get any notice of my website being in some sort of violation. I'm most angry about their customer service. They couldn't answer any of my questions and I did not like the fact that they cannot tell me how I violated the TOS and that I'd have to email Yahoo to find out. Now I have to start my website over somewhere else. I created a new email address since Yahoo locked the other one. If any of you had my old email addy, here's the new one.. psychosekc@hotmail.com. Thanks for listening. If I didn't get all this off my chest, there might've been casualties at that pharmacy. [:D]

I feel your pain.  When my old computer died, ALL of myYahoo stuff took a dump too.  I was never able to get back on.  I had to set up new eBay accounts, etc.  I finally gave up and left Yahoo completely.  Grrrrrrrrrr...[:@]

I've been doing some research and have found that I'm not the only one to experience this. For some people, they were lucky. They were able to retrieve their information but virtually all of them were not given a specific reason as to how they violated the TOS and only a few were given notification that they violated TOS. The majority never got notification and like me, discovered they violated TOS after making a phone calls and sending out emails. I still don't know how I violated TOS. I probably never will. I will probably have to start a new website from scratch and it won't be as elaborate as my old one but I'd rather do that then play this game with Yahoo. [:@]
