The Best Workout DVD Ever! What is it?

Ok I need to loose weight like crazy right now, I'm going to the Bahamas for X-mas! My boyfriends family goes every year and stays at a beach house, this will be my 4th time I go with him. (His family lives in Alaska so this is their break from the cold) Each year I feel so embarashed because I really need to loose some weight, I'm tiered of having to hide behind a towel and a full piece swim suite. I also want to fill good for myself. So that being said what are some of the best workout vidieos out there? I figure if I can loose at least 30lbs in three months and i'll be happy. I lost 20lbs sence last year but I need more help then just the food I eat.

Any suggestions on good workout DVDs?

You could be a dog-walker for someone's huskies. They'll take you along for a couple of miles hike at a quick pace. Seriously, dog walking goes a long way towards general health and it is aerobic. According to what I've read, it's the safest exercise for general health and weight management.

My favorite source, Dr. Covert Bailey, a nutritionist by education, states that diets do not work. Regular aerobic exercise and some weight training, if you are so inclined, do the trick. 15 mins of running or 45 mins of walking. That's all ya gotta do, put one foot in front of the other and repeat as necessary.

The slim in 6 DVD really works you hard. There are two dvd's the first one you use for 2 weeks/ 6 days a week. Wehn you  can master all of that, they move you on to the harder dvd. That is the same moves, just faster and more of them.

I run a lot (20-25 miles per week) and am in fairly good shape. That dvd set kicks my butt. I am a sweaty puddle when I am through with it.

word of warning....I could not get up from a sitting position without aches and pains for the first week of doing it.

I had great success with the Tai Bo tapes with Billy Blanks and just plain old walking.  My husband lost 50 lbs and I lost 80 using them.  The orignal Advanced (so old it is only on VHS) is awesome.  It is about 1 hour long and burns about 800 calories!!!  The newer ones are good too, but I still think the original is the best!

    Good luck!

i would foget any dvd's. join a gym and a spinning class. hire a personal trainer to learn how to effectively use some of the weight training equipment. it is easy to lay the dvd to the side and forget about it. it is way harder to skip out on a training session once you have already paid a trainer.[sm=2cents.gif]

i havent had a gym membership in a while and i really miss it.

The BEST workout DVD Ive ever done is Denise Austin - Shrink Your Female Fat Zones.  Its the most amazing workout you will ever get, seriously, I was a member at a gym and always went to the "Pump" classes which was weight lifting and I also did circut training classes.  I quit the gym because we moved too far from it and I bought that DVD right after and I was so sore.  I couldnt believe it.  I did the DVD 5 days a week for about 2.5 months and lost about 15 lbs.  I havnt done it in about a year and I gained about 5 of it back which was fine with me but I know what I will go back to when I want to lose more weight[:)].  I also liked it because it was easy on my knees.  I have bad knees from all the cheerleading and dancing I did when I was in junior high and high school, gymnastics when I was little... and hiking when I was older.  They just cant handle most of the things out there.  Good luck!  Oh, you need a stability ball and weights... she uses 3lb but I would recommend using 5lb, ankle weights help too (although when you start I would take it easy, you wont be able to walk the next day!)

The gym is alright, I'll go once in a while to my college gym but I rather workout by myself without someone coming to say "hi" to me every 10 mins or so. Most of my friends who go to the gym go more as a social hang out then anything else. I would love to get a personal trainer but fitting one into my already mixed up schedule would be close to impossable. Besides I usally enjoy working out at around 11:00 at night from the confort of my own bedroom which is why I'm looking for a good DVD. I just can't stand how I always buy a workout video and it's not what I want, thats why I ask all of you.[;)]

The funnest one I have right now is a belly dance workout but it's rather slow and I get bored of doing the same thing for that long. I'm just looking for something fun and something that works. Thanks all for the suggestions, I'll have to read the reviews from amazon and decied which one I want.[:D]

Good luck, dear!  I'm right there with you.  I gotta drop some poundage, and I prefer to work out late at night, too.  Thankfully, I can follow Ron's advice and go walking with my Doberman, because nobody messes with me when I have her.  I lost tons of weight when I got Gracie, then the fence went up in the backyard and I had less incentive to walk umpteen times a day.  Good luck!  I swear, the workout isn't nearly as hard as the committment, so stay committed and you'll do great!!!

Yeah!!  That's for sure!!  It took me at least 3 weeks before I could do the whole thing and keep up.
