    Healers in the AKC?

I was poking around on the AKC website and could not find red healers or blue healers anywere. Around where I live they seem to be a very popular breed. They are used a lot for working hearding dogs and seem to be popular with people who do rodeo. My parents even have a red healer that my brouther found. Maybe I'm just missling something but why are they not so popular with the AKC? I just assumed they were part of the hearding group.

You'll find them listed as "Australian Cattle Dog." >^^;< They have a lot of names. Blue Heeler, Red Heeler, Australian Cattle Dog, Queensland Heeler, heck I probably missed some because it's late and I'm tired lmao...

I was wondering about the Australian Cattle Dog, they looked very much like blue healers. But what about the red? Are they the same breed? Also many "blue" healers I've see look whiter and more round, maybe it's just the pet quility one's I see often. Althought most healers I have seen working and doing what they do best even if they are not registerd. I know the Australian Cattle Dog was breed from a cross of a dingo and collie so maybe that explain the "red" ones? Just curious. They just seem to each look slightly different I thought they were different breeds.

Heelers, red or blue, are listed as Australian Cattle Dogs. I had the same problem you had when I first got Ash. I was told she was a Queensland Heeler and I couldn't find her breed listing anywhere until someone at a book store told me to look under Australian Cattle Dog.

It's just so stange that a dog with so many colors and names all belong to the same breed. I'll try to post a pic of my parents red healer when I go visit them. Her name is Trinity and she is Gizmo's favorat dog to play with, they are a perfect pair of hearding dog when they get together.
