    medical mysteries...pregnant man?

O Brother, Where Art Thou?' Takes On a Whole New Meaning Friday, August 25, 2006
O Brother, Where Art Thou? Oh wait, there you are... Imagine having a twin brother you never knew existed. Growing up without him, it would maybe feel like a part of you was missing. Well, what if it turned out you were carrying that missing part with you all along … in your own stomach? Sanju Bhagat was always self-conscious about his big belly, which earned him the nickname of "pregnant man" in his village of Nagpur, India. But he could always chalk it up to a little overzealousness at the dinner table, or so he thought. That is, until he was rushed to the hospital for being unable to breathe, and doctors discovered the 36-year-old mutilated fetus of Bhagat's twin brother trapped inside his stomach, ABC [linkhttp://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,210517,00.html#]Primetime's[/link] "Medical Mysteries" reported. The "fetus in fetu," as doctors call it, happens when a fetus becomes trapped inside the body of its twins and begins to leach the blood supply. When freed from Bhagat's stomach, the fetus was found to be well-developed, even having long fingernails and hair. (Story continues below)

I always find reports of this gross. Yeeeccccccchhhhhh.

It usually isn't that well developed, though. (I'm still being grossed out, bbbbbaaaarrrrffffff.)

It has a photo of the "pregnant man" an interview with the doctors and a quick take of the "brother" inside.  I thought I could handle it, but I'll be damned if I don't feel quesy.  It's pretty horrifying.

[:'(]   Glad he could find some relief.

Woo, that's weird. I was watching something kinda like that on Discovery Health a couple of months ago. There was an 80 something year old woman with a fetus still inside of her.

This is beyond weird.  I can watch the worst horror movies without batting an eye, but this kind of stuff (real stuff) gives me the heebie jeebies. [:'(]

Hey! THat was an episode of the X-Files once! Only in the show, the "twin" was evil and killed people!

I took my dog Kay to the vet to have a tumor checked.  He
did the needle biopsy and it was just fat cells, nothing too
unusual for a twelve year old.  I started tracing it with wax
paper, marking the date because it was growing rapidly.  I
called and asked them to remove it when it reached the size
of a softball in just a few weeks.  I believe she was rubbing
it against the side of the dog door and it was filling with fluid.
The receptionist called and told me the vet wanted to
schedule an appointment to talk before I picked her up.  I
started to panic and asked her to find out what was wrong.
She told me the vet said something about finding puppies which
was impossible since she was spayed and the tumor was on her side.
It turned out the Vet was just excited about what he found in the
tumor. He said the inside looked like a geod (rock) and when
he cut it open he found fingertip sized fragments of undeveloped
littermates in a green fluid.  I didn't get to see it but it sounded
    very gross.
